Sooo frustrating!

I hate being sick. And I seem to be sick here a lot.

Friday I took the day off, because between working the past four weekends, and Zach's schedule being completely crazy too, and both of us being sick last week (yeah - we get a holiday, and end up both being sick), well, our house looked rather a mess. So, we both had Friday off, and have been trying to get the place back in order. Was all set to have a regular weekend too - post had a Breast Cancer 5K on Saturday that we wanted to run, too. Would have been a great weekend, with a semblance of living in a real place again, not someplace beyond the edge of nowhere.

So what do I do? I come down Friday night with a fever, complete with chills and headache and the rest. Stupid germs.

I was feeling better by Saturday afternoon, but didn't run the 5K, as it would've been a horrible run, and probably sent me back to bed with that fever again. I've still managed to do lots of cleaning this weekend (our apartment is looking SOOO much better), but didn't get to do the run. Very frustrating. And because we're such a small place, it's now another month until the next 5K. There's a lot of stuff around here like that - you miss it once, and it's another month until the next event/meeting/whatever. Where I grew up was a big enough area, there were stretches of time where there was at least one race every week! Stupid fever.

We were talking at work, that everyone seems to get sick here a lot, and it's hard to shake off bugs. It's probably just because the desert is such a harsh place to live, that no one's immune system is faring too well. Just another joy of living in the desert, I suppose. :\
