This picture is from a caving trip we took, over which Anne wanted to learn to knit. I'd been knitting for a few years at that point, and she had been cross-stitching for even longer. However, she'd expressed interest in learning to knit, as she had friends she wanted to make gifts for, and cross-stitching presents for people was taking way too long. Ended up being frustrating for her, despite the impressive results.
So, on one caving trip, I brought an extra set of needles and we picked up some yarn and sat down in the evening and taught her how. It was a learning experience for both of us, since I'm a lefty and she's backwards (yes, Anne, I don't care what the rest of the world says!) and I hadn't taught a righty before. I have a few other quirks in my knitting too, which I've learned to recognize so I don't pass on my bad habits, but it was my first time teaching so it made it all the more challenging! But can't have been that horrible a teacher, thought, as she picked it up well, and has become just as addicted as I am! (Check out her blog here). It's funny how many things she fusses at me for, because I am an enabler. This is just one on the list :)
We laughed a lot too, because she was SUCH a tight knitter. As in, can barely squeeze the needle in for the next stitch sort of tight. So, yes, we became the girls who loosen their stitches with a little Frosty Cold Beverage (in our case, Smirnoff Twisted). And, as a side note, Smirnoff is not a brand name that should be with alcohol - you just have too much fun saying it as you get more into your system.

As for the title today, it's taken from one of our favorite online comics, Least I Could Do. We agree that Cadbury eggs are a wonderful thing, and that line became quickly a running joke for the two of us, applied to whatever the Best___Ever we happened to be talking about. It came up here, as she was very excited at the completion of her first inch or so the scarf that she was making, (I think that's where the funny face in the top picture comes from - I snapped the camera as she was talking, and I think it's the "v" in "ever").

And teaching a friend to knit is also the BEST knitting ever!
You're a good friend for passing on your knitting skills.
Also, pics like that were meant to be taken during the "v" in "eva".
Rock on.
Kniting is the best and especially knitting with friends.
Knitting and friends...the perfect combination :)
Knitting and voddy! Love it!
